Apollo Phantom Succeeds in Impressing

Apollo Phantom Review

Shortly after Gear Junkie received its demo of the exciting, new Apollo Phantom I took an opportunity to review and test it out under New Zealand conditions. I have been super excited to fully experience the features that Apollo has been talking about for a long time. The Phantom is the top high-performance scooter in Apollo’s line-up. With a promise of world class suspension and power, the Apollo Phantom did not fail to impress.

Since I live near the city centre in Auckland New Zealand I took advantage of the amazing cycle way that goes from the city centre all the way to Westgate shopping mall. This is the perfect place to put the new E-Scooter to the test.

With a promise of world class suspension and power, the Apollo Phantom did not fail to impress.

As I set off the first thing I noticed was how effective the suspension was. It honestly feels like you are floating along the rough footpath. I appreciated the suspension even more when I made it onto the cycleway and was able to pick up some speed. The way the suspension handled bumps and uneven surfaces gave me great confidence and a feeling of safety that I haven’t experienced with other high-performance electric scooters. The way the suspension allows you to lean and push into turns really adds to the handling of the Phantom. At no point along the ride did I feel like a corner was too tight or that the scooter would fall out from under me.

Speaking of handling, the Phantom really excelled in this front. With its extremely comfortable grips, handlebars and throttle position all adding to the handling experience, even after riding for 2 hours straight. I felt like I could go easily for another 2 hours.

The part of this scooter that left the biggest smile on my face was its power. At no point along the ride did the scooter leave me wanting more. I found myself in single motor mode the most, just happily cruising along, able to take in the views of Auckland city. When I came to a hill or needed an extra boost to avoid other people I was able to access the scooter’s second motor. This gave me the extra boost I needed.

Using the two motors was a great time to put the braking system to the test. The brakes on the Phantom are another stand out. With both front and rear hydraulic disk brakes, even at top speed I was coming to a snappy stop safely. These brakes are a real testament to the completeness of this high-performance scooter. I feel very confident that the Apollo Phantom electric scooter is the complete package and can tell Apollo is really thinking about the safety and image of their high performance E-scooter riders.

Using the single motor for most of the journey took about 2 hours for the round trip, using a little under half the battery. The journey was about 30KM total but this scooter could have handled a lot more. I am very impressed. The Apollo Phantom. It is the most well rounded and complete high-performance scooter I have ever ridden. I would like to thank Gear Junkie for hooking me up with this beast. If you have any questions about E-Scooters in general they are people you are wanting to get into contact with.
